Inspired by its highly successful Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the OECD is developing the first international large-scale assessment of Vocational Education and Training (VET) programmes. In this session, the OECD’s Director for Education and Skills will present the framework for PISA-VET, outline the next steps in the initiative and look forward to the first results of the programme and the benefits that will be possible, including enhanced comparative policy insights on how to improve the relevance, quality, equity and effectiveness of initial VET programmes and the promotion of VET and the power of skills to enlighten and inspire young students of the future.
