Hector Bombiella is a national PISA-VET and WorldSkills Coordinator, and an advisor to the Director General of the Colombian National Learning Service (SENA). His job is to design and develop strategies that promote quality and excellence in skill training programs, with a particular emphasis on peasant and popular economies. The SENA prepares more than 70% of VET students in Colombia across all areas of knowledge, making it the largest in Latin America. As a professor and researcher, he has taught sustainability, human rights, and public policy at various universities in the United States, Colombia, and abroad. Bombiella is a lawyer and holds a PhD in Sustainable Agriculture, specializing in rural sociology and cultural anthropology. As a PISA-VET and WorldSkills enthusiast, his goal is to transform the skills landscape and bring it closer to local and national economies, while bringing some fun to the process.
