Since its launch on July 15, 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the UNESCO Global Skills Academy (GSA) has been pivotal in providing young people worldwide with access to high-quality training. Aligned with the UNESCO Strategy for TVET 2022-2029: ‘Transforming TVET for successful and just transitions’ the GSA emphasizes the importance of TVET in promoting resilience and recovery in the post-pandemic era. As we commemorate the fourth year since the GSA’s inception, this spotlight session at the WorldSkills International Conference 2024 highlights the ongoing impact of the GSA in advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by equipping youth with essential skills for a sustainable future.
