Borhene Chakroun, Director of the Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems Division at UNESCO, drives global education and training initiatives in the context of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has authored numerous publications in the fields of skills development and lifelong learning. His recent work focuses on analyzing education reform trends and shaping skills development through digital and green transitions within the 2030 SDG framework. Borhene leads UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition, mobilizing multi-stakeholder collaboration to accelerate progress towards SDG4 and enable equitable digital transformation in education. Previously, Borhene worked as a trainer, project manager, and consultant for organizations including the EU and World Bank. He also served as a Senior Human Capital Development Specialist at the European Training Foundation. An engineer by training, Borhene holds a PhD in Education Sciences from Bourgogne University, France.
