Growing up in Tangier, Morocco, Yousra considered technology a form of magic. She dreamed of creating something that earned her awards and recognition. Yousra joined Mechatronics at the Vocational Training and Occupational Promotion Bureau (OFPPT), Morocco’s public VET education network. A teacher discovered her talent in electronics and encouraged her to compete at WorldSkills. She represented Morocco at WorldSkills Kazan 2019. Yousra then joined the WorldSkills Champions Trust, serving as a MENA representative from 2019 to 2022, and was recently selected for 2023 to 2024. Her goal is to inspire other young people – particularly other women in Africa – to believe in themselves and follow their passion. Yousra is an advocate for youth participation in policymaking and believes that governments should trust young people to be part of decision-making. Currently she is pursuing her Master’s degree at Mohammed V University, Rabat.
