Rachel Crawford

WorldSkills Champions Trust representative for Oceania and ASEAN

Portrait of Rachel Crawford.

Rachel Crawford grew up in a culinary environment with chef parents. At 17, after completing a school-based pastry apprenticeship, she began a full-time apprenticeship in a café’s pastry section. Despite challenges, Rachel finished her apprenticeship in two years and pursued a Certificate III in Bakery. Her passion for learning led her to WorldSkills Competitions in Bakery. After regional and national success, Rachel competed internationally in 2022, earning 4th place and a Medallion of Excellence at the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rachel is now the first Australian appointed to the WorldSkills Champions Trust, advocating for apprentices worldwide. She encourages others to seize opportunities and turn passions into professions. Currently working in various Australian bakeries and patisseries, Rachel dreams of opening her own patisserie after gaining international experience.
