Hiromichi Katayama works on strengthening national technical and vocational education and training (TVEY) systems. Among other activities, he is leading UNESCO’s TVET policy reviews in different countries. He has also been coordinating the development of skills assessment and anticipation in the Middle East and North Africa regions, as well as situation analyses of TVET systems in Asia and Africa. Before joining UNESCO Headquarters, he worked at the OECD in Paris on the assessment of PISA financial literacy. He also worked at the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) in Montreal, focusing on the collection, analysis, and dissemination of TVET data and statistics.
