Dr Kipkirui Langat

Dr Langat is the Director General of TVET Authority, Kenya and CEO of WorldSkills Kenya. With over 27 years of experience in the TVET sector, he has taught in various institutions and consulted across the world. His expertise includes TVET policy formulation, competence-based training, assessment and certification, and TVET regulations. Dr Langat serves on advisory committees for global TVET initiatives, including the BILT Project, SAAM Quality Control Board, and Orange Knowledge Programme Sounding Board. He was instrumental in Kenya’s admission to WorldSkills International and is working on establishing WorldSkills Africa. He holds a PhD in Engineering Systems and Management, two master’s degrees, and is a registered Professional Engineering Technologist and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering Technology of Kenya. In 2022, Dr Langat was awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) by Kenya’s President for distinguished national service
